Peter Gregson

Cellist Experimenter: Peter Gregson

Peter Gregson is a cellist and composer. He was the Artistic Advisor to the Innovation Forum at the New England Conservatory in Boston and is founder of the Google-funded Electric Creative Colab, an incubator developing collaborations between the arts and technology. Peter developed and was commissioned to compose ‘The Listening Machine‘, a data sonification of Twitter in collaboration with Daniel Jones and Britten Sinfonia for the BBC/Arts Council’s “The Space”.

Peter has performed in places ranging from SXSW to the Royal Festival Hall to the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco. He works regularly with leading technologists including Microsoft Labs, UnitedVisualArtists and MIT Media Lab. He has commissioned and premiered works by composers such as Max Richter, Steve Reich, Gabriel Prokofiev and Tod Machover.
